Petey's Place - by John Sealander
Petey shared his life with us from October 6, 2001 until April 29, 2006. He was a remarkable dog, but I still have no idea how old he was when he died. There were days when I thought he was a strong-willed young Dalmatian, afflicted with more than his share of physical ailments. There ware other days when I was convinced that he was a very old dog, who was dealing with aging the way we all do when our bodies finally start to fall apart. This is the way it is with rescue dogs. You're never quite sure how old they are or what kind of life they led before that eventful day when you found them at a shelter and offered them a second chance. I can only hope that Petey had a long and enjoyable life. We will never forget the four and a half years he spent with us. I hope you enjoy these stories about this amazing dog and his stray and abandoned friends. We offered Petey a home, but he offered us much more. Petey's stubborn determination and kind heart were an inspiration to all who knew him. It would have been nice to have more time together, but I will always be grateful for the time we had. Petey the Pound Pup - the journey from stray to sit and stay. Second Chances - many are called, but few are chosen Saving Sadie - please don't bite the hand that feeds you. Petey and Patti - it wasn't a marriage made in heaven. Dog Time - in a world without deadlines, you're seldom late. Penny and Patch - what do you do when no one wants you? Greta's Gift - sometimes one year can last a lifetime.
